Why is nutrition advice so confusing?

I've read a lot of books on nutrition and perimenopause (which like to give nutrition advice). There is SO much confusion and contradictory pieces of information in these books. I think it's because of something that is wisely repeated over and over in Ayurveda: the idea that medicine is personal. What is medicine to one person can be poison to another. With anything you consume, whether it be food, social media, books, the people you choose to spend time with, etc., it's important to continually notice how it makes you feel, not only in the moment, but in the longer term. Notice what is nourishing/fills your cup. Notice what is depleting your energy. Notice where there is discomfort (sometimes indicative of growth, not always a "bad" thing).

What is medicine for you may be poison to another; what is poison to another might be your medicine. There is NO one size fits all. You are the authority on what is right for you and your body. A good teacher (or coach, therapist, healer) should help you uncover the guru within.
