Cravings (not just food…)

Per Ayurveda, when you're in balance, you crave things (foods, practices, routines, etc) to keep you in balance, and when you're out of balance, you crave things that keep you out of balance.

How can you work with this concept practically?

Start by observing your cravings and patterns. Notice with gentleness and love if they are serving you. Beating yourself up for any "unhealthy" practices is not useful. Only with full awareness and meeting yourself where you are today can you begin to shift and move towards that which does nourish and support you. If you are noticing cravings or actions that move you away from your center, see if you can explore the purpose they serve for you. This is very personal; what is medicine today could be seen as poison tomorrow. Choose ONE small new change to make and implement it for the next month.

As two things can be true at once, I want to leave you with a question posed in meditation by my teacher, Katie Silcox. "What would it look like if we believed that nothing inside of us was bad or wrong?"
