Burnout is Trendy

Happy December! We’re getting into the thick of the holiday season. You might be feeling overwhelmed with all of the to-dos leading up to those holidays you celebrate.

It’s also getting darker-- the days are becoming even shorter as we ramp up (down?) towards the Winter Solstice. Motivation is SUPPOSED to be LOW this time of year!

I want to remind you of something a friend said to me: “the yin feeds the yang.”

Meaning: the resting and being actually fuels the doing.

Another reminder: Your worthiness isn’t based on what you accomplish.

Give yourself permission to rest during this chaotic time. Creative ways to rest:

💗Lie down and put your legs up the wall for five minutes when you feel that mid-afternoon energy drop

🌹Turn on a timer and do alternate nostril breathing for five minutes

🌸After a work meeting, take a few minutes in your office (home or away) to simply sit, look out a window, and process before picking up your phone or answering another email

🌼Go do a restorative yoga class (at a studio or online)- come to mine! 😉
