Holidaze

What delights you?

It’s a question that seems to take people by surprise. During this time of year, we can get so caught up in the stress of expectations, we may forget to focus on joy and delight.

♥️Do you love lights adorning the houses and pine trees?

♥️Do you love the smell of spicy pumpkin bread baking in the oven?

♥️Do you love the glow of friends dressed up at a holiday party?

♥️Do you love an early, cold, colorful sunset?

♥️Do you love the sticky hug of a little person excited by the traditions?

Joy and delight can also stem from the WHY behind celebrating these holidays, in remembering the meaning of the holiday for you and your family.

I believe this is why people may want to be specific with how they salute you. They may want to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, or Happy Yule, as acknowledging our beliefs and traditions is important to each of us.

Let’s hold love, kindness and compassion for each other in this season, and see if we can keep our focus on what lights us up.

If you focus on what brings you joy in any given moment, you will inevitably spread light to others.
